HILTON VIRGINIA BEACH OCEANFRONT COMPLETES $13 MILLION ROOM RENOVATION - 05.01.2018

The award-winning Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront has completed a $13 million room renovation, pairing spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and award-winning dining offerings with 289 completely refreshed guest rooms and suites. The renovation comes as the hotel enters its second decade as the centerpiece of Virginia Beach’s nationally recognized boardwalk.  

“We are committed to offering the best experience to our guests and this includes stylish, new rooms,” says Bruce Thompson, President and CEO of Gold Key | PHR Hotels & Resorts, which owns and manages Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. “Attention to detail has been a hallmark of Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront since its opening in 2005, and it continues to show in this renovation.”

The complete renovation of all of the rooms took place in phases beginning in 2016 with the hotel’s Empyrean Club rooms. Located on the top three floors of the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel, the Empyrean Club is an exclusive “hotel within the hotel” and has 53 rooms, including two executive suites and the Empyrean Club lounge.

The Empyrean Club rooms’ color palettes emphasize pale hues of white and cream with green, jewel-tone accents. With either a Hilton Serenity king bed or two Hilton Serenity double beds, the rooms have a spa-like presentation with upscale amenities, including 55-inch plasma screen televisions, private baths with their own 10-inch LCD television, BOSE® clock radios and cordless telephones. Plush cotton bathrobes, lighted makeup mirrors, irons and ironing boards provide residential comforts, while the nightly Suite Dreams turndown service adds a welcome touch of luxury. The Empyrean Club Level also provides the added touches of bottled water, Starbucks® coffee, premium bath and beauty products, puff sponges and satin hangers.

The final phase of the renovation was the hotel’s Superior guest rooms, which make up the majority of the hotel’s inventory. Work on those rooms began in 2017 and was completed during the first quarter of 2018.

Inspired by its oceanfront location, the hotel’s new Superior guest room design features a soothing, yet vibrant color palate of blues, creams, and grey hues. With either a Hilton Serenity king bed or two Hilton Serenity double beds, these rooms have contemporary style furniture and accent pieces. The many amenities include a 37-inch TV with premium cable channels, on-demand movies, Wi-Fi, two telephones with voicemail capability, and desks with ergonomic chairs. Textured ceramic tile, sleek backlit mirrors, and 5-jet showerheads are a few of the highlights of the renovated bathrooms.

In addition to the renovated guest rooms, Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront is home to two award-winning restaurants, Catch 31, and Salacia, Virginia’s only 4-Diamond steakhouse, and 13,000 square feet of flexible function space including an oceanfront ballroom. It also features the only rooftop infinity pool in Virginia Beach offering stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Virginia Beach coastline.
